The Lutz Morris x Carl Auböck collaboration was born of mutual admiration and respect of the same production values, such as supporting traditional artisanship and slow production.

The Willis wrist keychain includes the ‘Knopferl’, a key ring designed in 1948 by Carl Auböck II. It is handmade in pure polished brass and opens by unscrewing one of the stoppers to add keys.

The strap is in our signature tan leather with contrasting crème topstitching. Part of the topstitching is sewn by hand. The collaboration logo is gold-embossed on the inside of the strap. The Auböck logo is stamped on one of the stoppers.

Werkstätte Carl Auböck is a fourth-generation bronze-casting workshop, founded in the 19th century and is still based in the original townhouse in the heart of Vienna. Each of Auböck’s pieces are handcrafted by highly trained artisans. Auböck’s products have developed a cult-like following and are coveted by art collectors worldwide by turning everyday objects into sculptural things of beauty.

• Willis comes in Langston, our signature LWG gold-rated smooth nappa leather. Tanned in Germany.

• Willis is handmade consciously in Germany by small family businesses.

Why do we call what we do ‘responsible’ and not ‘sustainable’?
Because we choose not to greenwash. A lot of other brands would call what we do sustainable. But we believe that producing things will inevitably leave a footprint and therefore is not sustainable. This is why we prefer to call what we do ‘responsible production’. To us, this feels more honest.

We put a lot of care into making informed choices. We strive to step lightly and pay attention to even the smallest steps in our production process. We embrace the ongoing learning this commitment requires. We believe quality and integrity must go hand in hand throughout the design and production process. To us, this brings heart and soul to everything we do.

$10 will be donated to Every Mother Counts, a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother everywhere.

Giving back has always been important to Tina and when she started Lutz Morris she saw a clear path to contributing to EMC.
To do this, Tina chose to be concrete and transparent and donate a flat $10 from every bag sold instead of donating an obscure percentage of proceeds.

$10 might not sound like a lot, but for some bags this amounts to as much as 10% of the proceeds.
