A lot has happened since we did our NY-tribe photoshoot in January, especially for Ben Rousseau.
In January Ben was the PR Director at C&M Media, our PR agency, living in Crown Heights in Brooklyn. His life was busy and fabulous, navigating the up and downs of the PR business always with a smile and his contagious positivity.
Back then he said in his questionnaire:
I WOULD LIKE TO LIVE ONE DAY IN … A RURAL, AND REMOTE PLACE.
Flash forward and it happened!
Here is Ben’s new life in his words:
I gave up the apartment in NYC and have been living in Massachusetts since March -- with family on a farm property that was first owned and worked by my great grandparents (immigrants from Italy). It's been wonderful -- being able to spend more time outside, educating myself on plants and experimenting with growing and cultivating things, just getting connected with nature and to basics. I'm becoming quite the novice plantsman! Also, grateful that I've been able to isolate without feeling isolated. There's enough space here to move around and enough projects here to prevent the boredom of monotony. If I were stuck, alone, in a tiny NYC apartment right now, I'd have gone mad. I'm still working with C&M, of course, albeit remotely -- something that I could never have imagined was possible. But is! In short, in my opinion, the pandemic has forced many of us to consider what's really important and to think about how and where we derive our sense of happiness -- and it's forced us to be creative and look at things in a new light.
It is making me so happy that Ben got to fulfill his dream..
Here is to one positive outcome of 2020!
