Next up in our NY tribe series is Thakoon Panichgul.
We met in 2000 when Thakoon was a junior editor at Harper’s Bazaar US and I had just started my ready-to-wear line Lutz & Patmos.
Years later, I remember running into him on 8th Ave and 21st Street with a huge garment bag on his back. He was in the process of launching his own ready-to-wear line Thakoon.
We were joking that this is how the best started out. And he did become one of the best.
He is also one of the really good eggs in the fashion business.
In his questionnaire (swipe) he says that he loves great simple dinner with friends and lots of wine – we had many of those.
I am obsessed with his new magazine Hommegirls, because it finally gives women - who love fashion, but are not girly - a home and definition.
Who else identifies as a Hommegirl? I do.
